2021年8月，乌克兰有一个叫Ighor July的C++程序员正在电脑前打游戏。可能是电脑配置的原因，他其实是NVIDIA GeForce NOW的用户，这是英伟达推出的一个云游戏平台，在GFN名单中的已购买steam游戏可以直接用云平台来玩。
他和许多 NVIDIA GeForce NOW 用户一样都在等待 Nvidia 添加新游戏。一些首发游戏已经可以玩了，例如黑手党系列，但后来从 GFN 中删除。所以这个程序员决定折腾一番，尝试恢复已删除的 NVIDIA GeForceNOW 游戏。但无意中发现了一些他从未预料到的东西。
他检查了GFN的日志和缓存文件，他注意到用于从服务器获取数据的应用程序配置中最重要的一行：
打开后，他发现了一个GraphQL编辑器，这是一个用于 GraphQL 查询测试的接口。他开始尝试并进入不同的结构，但结果比预期的要容易，一旦按下 Ctrl+Space，就会看到一个智能代码完成弹出窗口，于是他开始填写参数以获得有效答案。
然后他找到了一种获取 1000 多个结果的方法。并凭直觉猜到了导致跳过答案数量的参数“After”，它是一个 base64 编码的整数：
最终他找到了超过18000个GFN的游戏/软件列表
这其中有一个游戏让他大吃一惊，那就是索尼独占游戏《战神》，而且它是唯一明确标注steam标签的独占游戏。
另外任天堂Wii主机独占的超级马里奥兄弟也在其中，并通过海豚模拟器实现游玩。后来被证实这并非空穴来风，因为该游戏登录了中国区的NVIDIA Shield
